Google Advanced Search Every day and every one of us uses Google search engine. Besides the normal way of search, Google offers additional options, to easily reach what you seek. Advanced users may already be familiar with this, but is fine for everyone to have this list in useful bookmarks.



• Individual words - example: SDC Software will find pages that have the words "SDC" and "Software" separately

• Words in quotes - example: "SDC Software" will find pages on which the phrase appears as "SDC Software"

• Star between words - example: SDC * Software will find pages on which the second word appears a few words after the first "SDC company software"

• Tilde before the word - example: ~Software will find pages with words related to the searched word "software, freeware, shareware, trialware"

• Minus before the word - example: SDC -Software will find pages that have the word "SDC" but not the word "Software"

• OR between words - example: SDC Software OR Brickbox CMS ensures that one or the other phrase will be shown in the results

• site: before full or partial address - example: site:mk will seek sites where the address (url) ends with mk

• filetype: before extension of the type of file that we search - example: Brickbox user manual filetype:pdf will find only pdf files in combination with the searched word

• inurl: before searched word - example: sdc inurl:gallery will find pages that contain the word "sdc" and "gallery" in the address (url)
